this guide is for the ones that are planning to surprise their loved ones with a beautiful and unforgettable proposal!

Although it is impossible to preempt everything
for this special occasion, there are still plenty of things that you can do to keep your cool before popping the question.
The memories created during this special moment will last a lifetime, you can't overlook something that important and you can't propose your other half without any preparation as such. Therefore, I gathered 5 tips that are utterly important and will help you to plan an unforgettable day.

1

A MEANINGFUL PLACE

Considering you've already chosen the ring, now you've got to decide wisely whereabouts you are going to propose your loved one. You might think it is a hard task, however it's pretty easy, though. Firstly you'll grab a pen and paper and make a list of the things you love to do as a couple and the places you both like go.

Do you either prefer the buzz of the city or going to a nice beach?

Hiking a mountain or going to a restaurant?

Staying at home watching a nice movie or going to a club to dance the night away?

I'm sure these are simple questions that you've got all the answers.

If you're planning to propose them in a different city use Google, Instagram and TikTok as much as possible. For instance, you're a couple that happens to love going to the beach and you are planning to propose in Dublin, so you might search:

"Best beaches near Dublin"

A list of places will show up and you're going to write down each one and search them on Instagram and TikTok. Look for hashtags and geolocation, you'll find everything people post about these places and therefore you'll get different views of the same location.
The key is to choose somewhere that matters for you both, a place where you can feel connected and at ease. If you choose the right spot to propose, you will come to realise that it will be much more easy to convince them to go there for a stroll.

2

ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE

This special occasion has to be well celebrated, so make sure to do a reservation at a restaurant that you both might enjoy. It doesn't need to be the fanciest diner ever, but it must be a nice place where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal together.

You can choose the one you are used to go to as opposed to a new one, however if you choose a new restaurant you've got to read all the reviews on Google and check the menu beforehand, to make sure whether the culinary quality is on your taste and on your budget. To enhance the experience, you can even ask the restaurant to help you with any special request you may have, such as flowers, champagne or a table with a great view.

In addition, it is up to you let your other half know you're going to a restaurant that evening, it might be a good reason for them to dress up a bit and thus feeling good about themselves when looking back at the proposal photos.

3

MORE THAN WORDS

I really do encourage you to prepare and rehearse a small speech in advance, as it is an excellent way to ensure that this moment is going to be not only memorable but meaningful.

Expressing into words all the feelings you have for your significant other whilst proposing is a hard task, you're bound to stutter or, worse still, dry up and have nothing to say. A well-prepared speech can bring you confidence to show your affection in a clear and romantic way. It is a great opportunity to remember the little details that makes you a singular couple, the great stories you have together, the special moments you experienced, the first time you saw each other and how you felt after sharing your first kiss.

Needless to say, you don't need to write a 500 words love letter, but in order to make your proposal unique and unforgettable you must put into words how much your partner means to you and how much you want to spend the rest of your life by their side. It will require some effort but upon doing the speech you will show there and then your true feelings and will definitely bring up emotional significance to it.

4

BE SUBTLE

The truth is, leading your partner towards the proposal day can be tricky, but you have to bear in mind that you have already planned to either take them to a casual place where you both enjoy or to do something you always do together. So, the odds are you'll find it easy to be subtle when inviting them to this place, try to be spontaneous about it so you will keep them off guard. You can as well consider sharing your plans with someone you trust as they might give you good insights and ideas, and they can help you to keep your nerves at bay.

On the day try to act as normal as possible, nerves can get in the way and you tend to get suspicious by doing things you've never done before, like iron your own shirt - if someone asks me, I never said this happened with someone I know 🙈😂. It is indeed a very special occasion, but try not to drop hints by acting weird.

Minutes before the proposal you'll might be hit by this overwhelming amount of feelings and it can throw you off track. To prevent this from happening just remember:

breath in

you got it all done

you planned everything

loosen up & go with it!
